L. Victoria Coronato, D.V.M.
Veterinarian/Practice Owner Dr. Coronto has been passionate about animal care since she was in kindergarten. It was then her first dog, a poodle she named Snoopy, was found by her brother abandoned on a Brooklyn street. She was mesmerized by the vet they took Snoopy to and couldn’t get enough watching them examine and treat the now rescued pooch. From that moment, she knew veterinary medicine was what she wanted to do with her life. By the time she reached college, however, it wasn’t so clear veterinary medicine was the right path. So, she went a different way. She graduated from St. John’s University with a degree in computer science and went to work as a programmer on Wall Street for the next several years. Though the job was good, the call of veterinary medicine was too strong. She left Wall Street for vet school, ultimately graduating from Ross University. She completed her clinical rotation at LSU where she not only treated domestic animals but gained experience with large animal care (including a lion!) as well. After LSU she returned to NYC and worked the next three and a half years at Bideawee. With that experience under her belt she opened her first clinic in East Harlem on 118th Street. After three years she moved to her current location at 115th and 1st Ave. She has been dedicated to serving the East Harlem community for 20+ years. Her passion for animal care and desire to educate pet parents are the driving forces behind her practice. She maintains state of the art diagnostic equipment and continues to educate herself on the latest advances in veterinary medicine. Her passion and dedication boil down to one simple theme from her elementary school essay, “If your animal is sick, I’ll be there to help it.” When not taking care of clients, Dr. Coronato enjoys spending time with her family upstate and cooking. She has a rescued Dachshund named ‘Joey Cupcakes’ and two sweet kitties, ‘Emmit’ and ‘Ardis’ |
"Amigo"
Greeter "Amigo" is our friendly clinic cat. He was a stray outside that was slowly tamed and then rescued. He is about 6 years old and enjoys lounging in the window, looking at squirrels, and snacking. "Amigo" gives us much joy, and we are thankful to have him around. |
